How might we measure the success of a music video?

-However the amount of youtube hits could also indicate a really bad music video and song;
For example;

Rebecca Black "Friday" has over 5 million views on youtube

• Word of mouth
• Charts
• Newspaper articles/ tv reports
• How many times they're shown on television
• Publicity
• Downloads (legal/illegal)
• CD sales
• VMA awards
