Question 4

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research , planning and evaluation stages?

I have used several different media technologies throughout construction, research and evalution stages of my my music video.

RESEARCH;
Before creating out music video we had to carry out some research into what music we will use and what the video will be like. We started by looking for music and to avoid copyright issues we decided to look for an unsigned artist, therefore we started our search on unsigned.com . However after listening to Rosie - Daisy Dares you on YouTube.com  we decided that this was the song we wanted to use. We then had to use Google.com to find out which record company Daisy Dares You was signed to. After finding this information on Wikipedia we then had to send an email through Hotmail.com.
We carried out some research into the artist on her Myspace page, and we also found some interviews on YouTube.These different medias were important in chosing the music we were going to use for our music video and they allowed us to search for music and gain information to obtain the permission to use the song we desired.
We also carried out some research about what audiences look for in music videos, we created a survey on SurveyMonkey.com and then sent a chain message on our SmartPhones and posted the Survey link on Facebook.com and Twitter.com. These different medias were very useful as they helped us to reach wider audiences to ensure we had responses from several people.

We also had to carry out reseach into creating our Digipak, we used a website called CoverDude.com and this was useful as it allowed us to see some real digipaks and gave us some ideas on how to create our own.

PLANNING;
To plan for creating our music video we had to use a few different medias. we created a storyboard and then took picture of it using a digital camera then we uploaded them to the iMac computers and put them onto Final Cut Express, we created an animatic and uploaded it to YouTube.com, this helped us to have a clear understanding of what we wanted to film for our music video and where we would film it. Before going out filming we arranged days to film through messaging on our SmartPhones, this is a quick and easy way to communicate and we was able to plan days that we were to go out and film.

CONSTRUCTION;
To film the footage for our music video we used HD cameras.
These allowed us to capture good quality footage that would look more proffessional in our music video.
To edit the footage and put it together into a music video we uplaoded to footage to Final Cut Express and edited it on there.

Once the video was completed we uploaded it to YouTube then posted the link to the video onto Facebook and Twitter and this allowed wider audiences to view our video.

Digipak and magasine advert;
To create our digipak and magazine advert we took several photos using a Digital Camera.
We edited these photos using a website called polaroin.com  which allowed us to get a polaroid effect on our photos

We then found a digipak template on Google.com that we saved and uploaded onto Photoshop where we put together our final digipak.

To create our magazine advert we used one of the images we had took and edited it on photoshop where we inserted texts to ensure it looked like a proffessional magazine advert.

EVALUATION;
To evlauate my process of the creation of my music video, digipak and magazine advert I have used several differnet medias .
I have used a website called Prezi.com this has allowed me to create fun presentaions that allows me to present information in a different way.
I have also used SurveyMonkey to gain audience feedback, I uploaded a link to the survey on Facebook to ensure I got as much feedback as possible.
I have also used SlideShare and this allows me to create a powerpoint presentation on a word document and uploads it online so i could post it onto my blog.

Another media i have used is Wordle , this allows me to put together several words into a word bubble, it is very useful to write lists.

Question 3

What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

To find out what our audiences thought of our video we carried out interviews and created a survey to find our they liked and disliked about our music video,below are the results.

\

From the results we can see that our music video has had a very positive response, majority of the audience liked our music video and we can see this in their responses.
Here is a wordle with some of the positive  responses we recieved;

We also posted our video on facebook and the reposes were also very positive 12 people 'liked' the link that i posted, and 6 comments were made on the video.

We have also posted our video onto youtube and that has received a positive response too. We have posted 2 music video on there, one that is of a low quality and on that is in HD. when combining the views of both videos there are almost 800 views altogether.

However not all the responses we received was positive, we asked in the interview and in the survey if there was anything that could be changed to make the video better and this is the constructed criticism we received;
